A program about wellness and health and addressing issues including mental health and sexual based violence and providing solutions for existing problems.
A Gitfam Ventures Initiative for Mental Health & Community Wellness
"Promoting mental wellness, addressing gender-based violence, and fostering healthy communities through digital media and direct support"
1 in 4 Kenyans will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime, yet access to support remains limited, especially in underserved communities.
45% of women and girls aged 15-49 in Kenya have experienced physical or sexual violence, with limited safe spaces for support and healing.
Young people face increasing pressures from economic challenges, social expectations, and digital stressors without adequate coping mechanisms.
The Wellness Uzima Programme is Gitfam Ventures' flagship initiative dedicated to addressing critical wellness issues in our communities. "Uzima" means "wholeness" or "complete life" in Swahili, representing our holistic approach to wellness.
Through this program, we leverage digital media and community engagement to provide mental health support, address gender-based violence, promote sexual health education, and foster overall well-being.
Using compelling audio-visual content to share experiences, reduce stigma, and promote healing.
Creating safe spaces both online and offline for open dialogue and mutual support.
Providing access to professionals with expertise in counseling psychology and mental health.
We're actively working to promote mental health and wellness through various initiatives
Our regular podcast features discussions on mental health, relationships, personal growth, and overcoming challenges. Available on YouTube and major podcast platforms.
We organize community walks to promote physical activity, reduce stigma, and create spaces for open conversations about mental health.
Regular online sessions led by experienced specialists provide guidance, resources, and support for those facing mental health challenges.
