Gitfam Ventures is a youth-led digital media and creative hub based in Mombasa, Kenya, specializing in storytelling, advocacy, and digital empowerment. Our mission is to be a catalyst for creative expression and digital inclusion in Africa. We bring together filmmakers, podcast hosts, photographers, designers, and trainers to tell authentic stories that inspire, inform, and ignite change. Through content, conversations, and collaborations, we elevate marginalized voices while nurturing the next generation of creatives.

WHAT WE DO

Our core areas include high-quality media production, advocacy through storytelling, event visibility, and youth empowerment. We produce short films, documentaries, podcasts, and branded content. Signature projects include ‘Mlinzi’, a YouTube comedic series, ‘Wellness Uzima Podcast’ on gender-based violence and mental health, and the ‘RiseUp 254’ youth talk show. We also offer full event coverage and partner with NGOs, creatives, and institutions to create social impact content. Gitfam empowers youth through practical training in digital skills, editing, personal branding, and more, offered at affordable rates through community workshops.

OUR IMPACT SO FAR

In the last year, Gitfam Ventures has established a fully equipped studio for photography, podcasting, and film production. We’ve launched original and relevant content like ‘Mlinzi’, which portrays community life through the character of a security guard named Kipwasa. Our podcasts—‘Wellness Uzima’ and ‘RiseUp 254’—address real societal issues while amplifying youth voices. We’ve also documented high-profile events including the Men’s Conference at Swahilipot, Rashid Abdalla Supercup, and Burudani Experience, while featuring key creatives such as Susumila and government and institutional figures.

Through our community outreach, we have trained over 20 young people in essential skills like video production, podcasting, and personal branding. These efforts reflect our deep commitment to grassroots engagement and capacity building for Kenya’s creative youth.

WHAT MAKES GITFAM UNIQUE

Gitfam Ventures is a creative incubator for local talent. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for emerging actors, musicians, filmmakers, and writers to develop their voice. Our content is mission-driven, tackling issues such as mental health, gender-based violence, and digital safety in engaging and relatable formats. Every piece of content is developed with and for the community. Our strong online presence on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram fuels organic engagement and allows us to reach audiences that traditional media often overlook.
